Use this recipe to make fluffy quinoa for the Super Food Quinoa bowl recipe or for your favorite quinoa recipe. This simple recipe makes delicious and fluffy quinoa in under 20 minutes. Quinoa is a good source of protein, dietary fibre, phosphorous, magnesium and iron and I always find ways to add this “superfood” to my diet.


  1. Quinoa – 1 cup (1 cup dry quinoa yields about 3 cups of cooked quinoa or roughly 5-6 serving portions
  2. Water – 2 cups
  3. Salt – 1/4 Tsp (optional)
  4. Olive Oil – 1 Tsp


  1. Rinse quinoa with water for a minute or until the water runs clear. This is a very important step so make sure to rinse well
  2. Toast the drained quinoa in a warm pan with 1 tsp oil to evaporate water
  3. Add water and salt and bring it to a rolling boil
  4. Cover and cook on low heat for 15 minutes. Turn off the heat, let stand covered for 5 minutes
  5. Fluff with a fork and serve
