Eat food. Not too Much. Mostly Plants

I have always been a vegetarian and ate real food, cooked at home 90% of the time. I love how Michael Pollan has helped all of us understand what is happening to our food system, especially in North America. I worked in the industry after my MBA so I experienced some of what Michael writes first hand. Marketing of these several different types of diets have left most of us confused about what to eat and what not to eat. These words are just simple guidelines that almost anyone can follow.

I believe all “labeled diets” are just part of Marketing gimmick. If we look at traditional diets from any culture, we can see how they are all balanced without the need of “food guide”. Traditionally people ate food, not too much and mostly plants. Meat was expensive so most people relied on eating plants to get the nutrients. I think it’s time to go back to the roots!
