TikTok favourite: McDonalds Hashbrowns


Makes 8-10 hashbrowns 


  • 3 russet potatoes
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt 
  • Avocado or olive oil for frying


  • “Par boil” your potatoes. This means to partially cook them, which will take about 8 minutes. 
  • Allow your partially cooked potatoes to cool down, and then grate them into a medium sized bowl.
  • Add your egg and seasonings to the potatoes and mix thoroughly
  • Shape your hashbrowns onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze them for at least 30 minutes (or until you’re ready to eat them!)
  • Pan fry on medium heat with avocado or olive oil until you’ve achieved your desired level of crisp!
  • Pair with the Good Food For Good original ketchup, or spicy!
